Fata Narrat: Short Stories

Tree's Guidance

In the heart of an ancient forest, under the watchful gaze of towering, gnarled oaks, stood a particularly old tree. Its branches stretched out like welcoming arms, providing shelter to those who sought refuge from the world beyond. One day, a young boy named Eli and his best friend, Rusty-a curious raccoon with inquisitive eyes-found themselves lost in this very forest. As night began to fall, they stumbled upon the oak, seeking solace and warmth. The tree's bark was rough against Eli's hands as he hugged it for comfort. Rusty, ever the adventurous companion, clambered up a nearby branch, his fur bristling with excitement at their unexpected discovery.

Eli looked around, feeling both fear and hope. 'Maybe this old tree can help us find our way home,' he whispered to himself. Just then, an ethereal light began to pulse from the heart of the oak. The light seemed to call out softly, as if it were speaking with a voice gentle like a breeze.

'Fear not, young traveler and your friend. Follow me.' The voice was so soothing that Eli felt his shoulders relax. Guided by the ethereal light, Eli and Rusty stepped into the heart of the tree's shadow, their hearts pounding but minds open to the adventure unfolding before them.
